WESTON SUPER QUILTS 2010

Workshops

This year at Weston Super Quilts we have lined up 2 international quilters to take our workshops. They will be teaching 2 completely different classes. Workshops are being held at The Winter Gardens again this year.

Both workshops will start at 10 am and run till 4 pm with a break for lunch giving you time to look around the show after your class. Included in the cost of the workshop is a one day's ticket into the show for you to see the quilts and shop with our various traders.

Celtic Design Workshop
with Angela Madden
Friday 10th September 2010, 10am-4pm

Celtic quilt by Angela MaddenWe have ANGELA MADDEN - also an internationally well know quilter - who has written and self published 9 needlework books and developed 3 design drafting tools. Angela will be teaching her Celtic Design workshop. Angela has won awards for her quilts at all the major UK shows and at Houston International Quilt Festival. She has also appeared on 'Sewing With Nancy' TV programmes in America.

Frustration-Free Fool-Proof Foundation Piecing Workshop
with Anja Townrow
Saturday 11 September 2010, 10am-4pm

We have the international quilter ANJA TOWNROW, who has had many of her quilts published in various quilt magazines in both Europe and America. Anja will be teaching her new workshop called Frustration-Free Fool-Proof Foundation Piecing.

You will have the choice of one of the following blocks, (the degree of difficulty increases from the easiest to the hardest) – Dandelion, Gladioli, Dahlia, Cornflower, Sunflower and Venus flytrap have tricky curves. One free pattern is included in the cost of the workshop and the patterns to make the larger Botanical Garden Quilt can be purchased separately on the day. The size of the blocks is 14" finished.

Machines:
If you do not want to transport your sewing machine to the class we will have some Husqvarna sewing machines for you to use kindly supplied by Mark Pickles of The Husqvarna Studio in Bath.  If you would like to use one of them, please let me know in advance so that I can book the required number of machines. (Please note if you bring our own machine it will need to be covered by a current PAT certificate. if necessary Mark Pickles can do this for you on the day, a small fee will apply.)

Fees:
The cost each workshop is £30.00. There are 15 places available for each workshop, so book early to avoid disappointment.
